What You Missed: St. Louis City SC 2 waited just 45 seconds to score the first goal of the night. AJ Palazzolo picked up a loose ball in the box and slotted a shot into the right side netting, catching the glove of Fernando Delgado before going in. The Monarchs defense broke down again in the 21st minute when Jude Wellings was pick-pocketed by Sergio Rivas, who blasted a shot past Delgado. Julian Vazquez had a clear opportunity on goal in the 33rd minute but his shot was saved by the chest of goalkeeper Michael Creek. St. Louis extended its lead in the 42nd when Wan Kuzain curled a one-timer, leaving Delgado frozen on his line. Real Monarchs pulled a goal back in first half stoppage time when Daron Iskenderian capitalized on a penalty kick after being brought down in the box. St. Louis came out of the break firing once again, scoring a fourth goal in the 46th minute via Dida Armstrong. The action slowed down the rest of the half, and the match finished 4-1 in favor of St. Louis.
