Man of the Match: Defender Kevin Saucedo had a strong presence among the Monarchs defense tonight, recording eight clearances in the match. In addition, the Colombian defender won all eight of his duels, tallied one interception and conceded zero fouls in a terrific defensive performance.
Telling Stat: Tonight’s match consisted of 35 combined shots between the sides. For the Monarchs, seven of its 15 shots were on target for a 47% on-target rate. Comparatively, San Antonio FC saw only six of its 20 shots on target, a 30% clip. Heading into the club’s fourth match in twelve days, the Monarchs remain at home as hosts to New Mexico United at Zions Bank Stadium on Wednesday, June 30 at 8:00 p.m. MT for the second of four meetings between the sides this season.
