Man of the Match: Veteran defender Kyle Adams played well on the road for the Monarch, anchoring the team’s defense. With five clearances, two interceptions and a tackle, Adams was a strong defensive presence throughout the night. In addition, the defender won six duels, including two In the air. Adams rounded out the night with solid distribution, completing 87.5% of his passes.
Telling Stat: Forward Charlie Wehan scored his second professional goal in as many games in the first half of the match. Additionally, forward Aris Briggs logged his second professional assist of the season. Wehan and Briggs have now combined on the scoring end in back-to-back matches for the Monarchs.
What You Missed: 17-year-old defender Jaziel Orozco returned to the Monarchs starting lineup following a month-long training stint with the Mexico National Team. In addition, 18-year-old midfielder Esequiel Coronel made his first appearance of the 2021 season as a second-half substitute for Head Coach Jamison Olave.
