Man of the Match: Midfielder Pedro Fonseca once again provided the Real Monarchs offensive threat against Tacoma Defiance. The Brazilian led the team in shots and created two clear chances at goal that nearly beat Tacoma goalkeeper Andrew Thomas. He ended the game with a 90% passing accuracy, the highest between the two sides.
Telling Stat: Out of the halftime break the Real Monarchs outshot Tacoma and maintained the majority of the possession. The team finished the game with 51.2% possession, while outshooting the Defiance 8-7, including three shots on target.
What You Missed: In the second of two meetings between the two sides, Real Monarchs suffered a 2-0 defeat to Tacoma Defiance. Forward Benjamin Rodriguez made his club debut, while Jaziel Orozco made his first appearance for Real Monarchs this season.
