Man of the Match: Defender Kyle Adams commanded the backline for the Monarchs , helping the defense hold Colorado Springs scoreless for nearly 95 minutes. On top of scoring his first goal in a Monarchs uniform, the breakthrough goal in the 47th minute of the match, Adams created two chances offensively. On the defensive side, Adams recorded 10 clearances, five tackles, a blocked shot and an interception.
Telling Stat: With the Monarchs playing down a man for the final 77 minutes of the match, goalkeeper Jeff Dewsnup had his work cut out for him and he did not disappoint. Facing 10 shots on frame, the Herriman, Utah native recorded a career-high nine saves in the match, playing a huge role in earning a point for the home side on the night.
What You Missed: After being ejected for receiving two yellow cards in the previous match against Austin Bold FC, USL Championship reviewed and reversed the ruling on Bode Davis’ one-match suspension and the midfielder featured in the starting XI for the Monarchs. Teammate Fernando Delgado was also ejected against Austin Bold FC and missed the match to serve his one-game suspension. Additionally, Head Coach Jamison Olave returned to the bench tonight after missing the previous two matches against Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC and Austin Bold FC due to COVID-19 health and safety protocols.
