- The square patterns on the kit represent the architecturally famous grid system that shaped SLC’s urban form.
- Utah’s grid system was designed by settlers to fit a horse pulled carriage.
- That’s why the roads are so wide (to fit them turning around) and why the blocks are so big (1 Utah block = 9 Portland blocks) and why the grid system was implemented.
